This Winchester manufactured barreled receiver is for the standard grade model 72 A bolt action rimfire rifle and is in very good condition exhibiting a mixture of original blue finish blending with a brownish gray patina having light wear and a few scattered specks of rust. The barrel measures 25 " long and the left side of the receiver has two professionally added filler screws about 3 1/8" apart that could pass for factory if Winchester ever did this which we doubt. The receiver is the only part on the model 72 A rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines. (file photos)
